Functional Strength Training

In personal training sessions and classes, strength training at Form Body Studio is based on Pilates principles and how they apply to your everyday life. You will build muscles and aerobic endurance while developing awareness of spinal alignment and using breath effectively to maximize effort. There is a strong emphasis on developing deep core strength for stability. Your sessions will revolve specifically around how you need to build strength and flexibility for your daily and recreational activities.

Personal training starts with a comprehensive evaluation and fitness test. This helps us determine how to build the best program that will enableĀ  you to achieve your goals while meeting your lifestyle needs.

At Form Body Studio, we are a team of qualified trainers with expertise in a variety of exercise modes. Your program may include working with more than one trainer and in more than one mode, depending on what your body needs and what you want to achieve. For example, do you feel weakened and tight from a job that requires you to sit at a desk for the majority of the day? We may prescribe a program that includes strength training one session and then Pilates or Yoga the next. Our equipment includes Pilates reformers, cadillac, chair, ladder barrel, in addition to cardio equipment, cable machine, weights, Bosu balls, bands and physio balls.

If you are new to fitness or are bringing fitness back into your life, we will begin with a basic program that becomes more challenging as you become more conditioned. If you are a seasoned athlete or weekend warrior training for a specific sport or event, your training will focus on complimenting your sports training. Your progress will be evaluated regularly to make sure we are on track and that you are experiencing results.
