Pilates Training

Form Body Studio is a fully equipped Pilates studio. We offer Pilates mat classes suitable for all fitness levels, small group training on reformers, and private sessions with certified Pilates trainers. Our training strongly emphasizes how to align and strengthen your body to meet the specific requirements you need to participate in daily activities, from getting out of bed to playing sports. Contraindications for each client are taken into consideration before classes or private sessions and modifications are demonstrated so everyone can participate.

Introductory Pilates mat classes are offered through the Community Education Department at the College of Marin and are taught at the studio as well as on the IVC campus. Mixed level and intermediate level mat classes are also offered, allowing clients the opportunity to continually move to the next level in training. All classes focus on postural alignment, lengthening the spine, and learning to engage deep muscles to strengthen the core from the inside out.

Small group classes up to 4 clients on refomers are available by reservation. Private sessions are generally required before participating in a group reformer class. Reformer classes are suitable for clients who wish to strengthen and lengthen muscles using resistance. They are a good compliment to Pilates mat classes as well as yoga and other group strength or aerobics classes.

Private Pilates sessions are individualized, and recommended fitness programs vary, depending upon your needs. Form Body Studio’s focus is on  strength training and conditioning. We share space with Synergy + Physical Therapy and Pilates, which offers  rehabilitative training.  All private sessions begin with an evaluation which includes a postural analysis, fitness level assessment, and goals. Working with you as our partner we offer and ask for ongoing feedback and evaluations.
